Coaching is a journey of self-discovery that will help you make radical improvement in your life and career. From figuring out your core values and aligning them with your goals to achieving life long success. It is raising your consciousness about the way you live, behave, and work by bringing your awareness to the forefront of your mind. Without coaching, most people just carry on their lives in a thoughtless commotion.
It is also a global phenomenon that has become increasingly in demand. It is the precursor for getting desired results and sustaining life long goals both personally and professionally in all arenas of life—health, quality of life, work/career, spiritual, leisure, family/mate, friends, finances.
A Professional Life Coach is a trusted and trained individual who draws on various tools, tips, and techniques based on personal experiences, professional training, and other disciplines such as sociology, psychology, and neuroscience to help their client uncover what's keeping them from reaching their fullest potential; so that they can become more confident, competent and charismatic.
Coaching is mostly offered on a one-on-one basis that provides a supportive and non-judgmental space to express concerns, desires and create what it is you want in your life or career.
Coaching works because of what I call a unique S-tripartite component:
STRUCTURE: Coaching uses a very definite structure or model to focus on client's goals, reality and outcome. The lessons are often varied as each client will determine the context and content, making it highly personalized. The coach helps the client understand what he/she already knows using the three integrated domains: affective/feeling, cognitive/intellect, and psycho-motor/action.
SUBSTANCE: Coaching helps clients become crystal clear by asking substantive questions that allow clients to come to their own realization and set ecological goals to reach their maximum potential. A coach provides clients with tools and strategies to help them understand what beliefs, mindset and/or action are hindering their progress and ultimate success. This creates an individualized program to support and encourage clients to take bold steps, think outside the box, and focus on strategies to get the results clients are committed to achieving.
SYNERGY: The client and coach become a team—accountability partners—ensuring that objectives are being accomplished more than the client would have alone.
Life coaching can take you above and beyond your own personal limitations and expectations. More often than not, people try futilely to achieve their dreams, but are knocked down along the way without even realizing what was their biggest obstacle.
A professional life coach offers an unbiased perspective to help you realize the habits that are potentially standing between you and your dreams. Most people attest that they are more efficient when working with a professional life coach. That this provides the opportunity for them to better realize their dreams.
While life coaching can be therapeutic, it is not therapy. Coaching is very distinct from psychotherapy because it is not designed to address psychological issues. Therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists deal with people who are challenged with major mental and emotional disorders and traumas; nothing of which a life coach is equipped to deal with, or should be dealing with.
While emotional issues may arise, the primary focus of life coaching is to help people identify their goals, achieve them, and develop constructive habits and skills. There is little emphasis placed on the past with coaching. The focus is on creating what you want now and in the future.
Each session is tailored to the client and will vary based on individual needs. In the beginning, we will discuss what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together and we will begin to create a plan to achieve those goals. At the conclusion of each session, we will reassess your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to foster growth. Periodically, I will give you assignments to help monitor your progress.
I require a 24-hour notice to cancel Skype or telephone sessions, and 48 hours of notice to cancel in-person sessions. Please be sure to contact me if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session.
